Memory4Less DDR4 Memory Price Report December 12th 2019
DDR4 2400Mhz 32GB, 64GB quantities drying up.
Memory market stabilized during November-December 2019. The continuing decline in memory prices since the beginning 2019 till October 2019 has slowed. In November memory buyers were very active in the 2400Mhz 64GB, 32GB, 16GB and 8GB modules. Every capacity showed very strong demand in November and this buying trend continues in December. Currently we see supplies drying up in the 2400Mhz 64GB and 32GB space, indicating that prices for this group may not remain this low going into 2020. Higher capacity 128Mhz modules are experiencing longer lead times for delivery from major manufacturers. The demand for higher capacity 128GB modules may increase in 2020. However the price point of over $1000 on these modules has not moved throughout 2019.
Our guidance for December is to buy 2400Mhz 64GB and 32GB as these capacities are still at a very attractive price point. At the same time we are seeing supply tightening up on them. Factories and brokers may have released product to balance inventory for year-end. However going forward into 2020 these modules may rise in price.
