September memory prices were seen trending sideways continuing the buying opportunity for customers who were looking to upgrade. The DDR3200 128GB capacity is at a very attractive offering presently in the market.

Dram spot prices are expected to stabilize in 4Q21.

The current stable prices levels in the market are largely attributed to the component imbalances in the supply chain causing bottlenecking of assembly lines as other components besides dram were unavailable.  This has led to recent decline in demand for dram components as manufacturers have a high level of dram inventory as compared to other components needed to complete their products and devices. These imbalances will dissipate as production catches up. 4Q2021 is expected to see higher demand for dram components.

Supplies are looking tight going forward. Manufacturers have stopped many lines of legacy dram. Some manufacturers have stopped accepting new orders for 2021 as the manufacturing capacity is committed.

Notes:
*RDIMM, also known as Registered Dual In-Line Memory Module, adds a register, which buffers the address and command signals between Dynamic Random-Access Memory modules (DRAM) on the DIMM and memory controller. RDIMM used to give better steadiness and scalability, ordinarily performs better compared to unregistered memory.

**LRDIMM represents load-decreased double inline memory module, utilized in servers that upholds higher densities than RDIMMs and contains a memory support (MB) chip. LRDIMMs are valuable in memory-concentrated applications in data centers, cloud & distributed computing and in high-performance computing (HPC).
