Supply chain challenges continue as acute material shortages, labor struggles impact every aspect of the supply chain. DRAM demand is expected to grow and with supply growth lagging prices may continue to trend upwards in 2022.

Also to note is that PC and Server manufacturers purchased large quantities of DRAM earlier in 2021 and currently are burning through their existing inventory. Once these inventories are depleted the demand for DRAM and NAND will rise.

In addition the metaverse wave will cause the memory prices to trend upwards. Memory modules are a critical component in the metaverse, in which users interact with each other in digital worlds. We are expecting huge demand for memory products from the gaming, financial and metaverse markets which will send the prices for DRAM higher.  

Our recommendation to our customers is to upgrade all necessary equipment at their earliest and to stock sufficient quantities of components to ensure their service to their own customers continues uninterrupted.

*RDIMM, also known as Registered Dual In-Line Memory Module, adds a register, which buffers the address and command signals between Dynamic Random-Access Memory modules (DRAM) on the DIMM and memory controller. RDIMM used to give better steadiness and scalability, ordinarily performs better compared to unregistered memory.

**LRDIMM represents load-decreased double inline memory module, utilized in servers that upholds higher densities than RDIMMs and contains a memory support (MB) chip. LRDIMMs are valuable in memory-concentrated applications in data centers, cloud & distributed computing and in high-performance computing (HPC).
