We are currently seeing over the past few months a leveling of prices in the market as the existing supply is consumed. Looking into the future, 2022 we may not experience the same demand for products as we experienced in 2020-2021. In addition most supply chains will be coming online and supply may exceed demand. Hence prices on new components may not be rising as much in the foreseeable future.

Dram demand stems from three major market segments smartphones, servers and notebook computers. These three categories have seen tremendous growth throughout 2020-2021. In addition there has been a continuing shortage of components with disruption in supply chains in 2020-2021. Hence the prices of components has been on the rise in this time period.

On the contrary legacy equipment upgrades still experience higher costs as major OEMS have moved their production lines to the newer products. To extend the service life of existing servers we recommend using higher density modules to keep open memory slots for future memory expansion and invest in upgrades for legacy equipment. As we move towards the end of Q4 we may experience price increases in the legacy memory categories.

Notes:
*RDIMM, also known as Registered Dual In-Line Memory Module, adds a register, which buffers the address and command signals between Dynamic Random-Access Memory modules (DRAM) on the DIMM and memory controller. RDIMM used to give better steadiness and scalability, ordinarily performs better compared to unregistered memory.

**LRDIMM represents load-decreased double inline memory module, utilized in servers that upholds higher densities than RDIMMs and contains a memory support (MB) chip. LRDIMMs are valuable in memory-concentrated applications in data centers, cloud & distributed computing and in high-performance computing (HPC).
