GS728TPP-200AJS Netgear 24 Port Gigabit Managed Switch Review

GS728TPP-200AJS Netgear 24 Port Gigabit Managed Switch

Build a future-proof network with NETGEAR Gigabit Switches

Optimize your network with the new generation of ProSAFE Gigabit PoE/PoE+ Smart Switches from NETGEAR, which provides powerful solutions to enhance the efficiency of complex networks. These networking switches are purposely designed for the converged networks where voice, video, data are all carried on a single network platform.

Netgear GS728TPP-200AJS Overview

Netgear’s GS728TPP-200AJS Switch is the new generation Gigabit PoE/PoE+ smart switch with advanced features such as L2/L2+, PoE functions and improved performance. This switch is designed to work on multiple tasks such as voice, video, and other data on one platform helps improve network performance and makes operational cost savings easy to manage.

Netgear’s ProSAFE GS728TPP features a 56GB/s switching capacity that supports 8K MAC addresses, 256VLANs, 480 shared ACLs, and 1024 multicast groups. Also, the switch’s ports are protected, which helps improve the merged network’s security by ensuring that phone calls remain private and other data, including videos and images, are forwarded to the intended devices without alteration or letting unauthorized users access the data. The IPv6 supporting management, QoS, ACL, and routing help to ensure a smooth migration to an IPv6-based network without replacing the switch. It consists of a dual-fan cooling system that works efficiently while generating low noise.

Power over Ethernet

This PoE switch is compatible with several devices, including IP security cameras, VoIP cameras, proximity sensors, wireless access points, and door locks. This switch has a power budget of around 384W that can be increased up to 720W through a separate EPS power connector. IT administrators can optimize the network resources during energy conversion that can either be scheduled or controlled remotely by PoE ports that turn the switch on or off.

Static Routing

This managed switch supports Layer 3 static, routed with 32 routes. The network can be optimized by separating it alongside the switch, whereas routers are reserved for external traffic routing.

Future-Proof Network

This 24-port gigabit managed switch ensures a smooth migration to an IPv6-based network through IPv6 support management, QoS, routing and ACL without any switch replacement. Netgear’s Pro Switch is capable of fast receiver joins and leaves for multicast streams. It helps the network to work efficiently as this managed switch ensures that the multicast traffic reaches designated receivers only, with no further requirements for the additional multicast router.

Security Features

Netgear 24 port managed gigabit switch features robust security that secures the converged network, monitors all incoming and outgoing traffic, filters unauthorized sources, and prevents external attacks by blocking malware. It makes the data accessible to authorized users from anywhere, anytime.
