Memory4Less DDR4 Memory Price Report November, 2020:
DDR4 Memory Price Summary November, 2020
In general memory prices from October to November continue to be in a downward pattern. There is very strong demand now for 3200Mhz DDR4 128GB and 64GB. These capacities have seen a significant reduction in prices from previous months and are more affordable. The 3200Mhz DDR4 128GB and 64GB capacities remain our recommended buy option for November for our Datacenter, Enterprise and Government customers looking to upgrade their servers.
The 2666Mhz 64GB has also shown very strong demand and there is a steady supply of this product in the market.
Demand in terms of capacity requested, the 32GB upgrade across all speeds remains the top choice for customers upgrading their servers. This capacity across all speeds has shown a 15% – 20% drop in prices from previous months.
The 16GB capacity has also shown a very steep decline in prices and remains a good choice when upgrading systems with 24 sockets virtualization servers for a total capacity upgrade of 384GB. However our recommendation is to use the higher capacities modules where possible in order to save expansion sockets for future upgrade possibility to maximize the use of servers.
Customers continue to move their essential business functions online and create environments for remote staff to work effectively. Hence the demand for IT infrastructure equipment continues to remain strong, both new and refurbished. The top categories being Storage, Memory and CPU/Processor upgrades. In addition, in lieu of current uncertainties businesses are not wasting time to upgrade, service and renew their IT infrastructure.
Our recommendation to our customers is to short list their essential IT infrastructure needs and complete their purchases sooner than later. To always stock essential replacement hardware and maintain a good “spare” inventory of parts for critical appliances.
Thank you for your continued support, wishing you all a very safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
