As July 2022 starts a new quarter begins, the demand for new equipment has already begun to show weakness, with additional fears of recession setting in.  Customers are opting to hold on to cash given the current uncertainties in the market. We have observed customers requesting more quotes for upgrading of existing infrastructure more so than for replacing with new equipment. There is also considerable shortage in certain market segments for new products due to supply chain issues for certain equipment, especially processors based equipment (like networking gear).

Customers continue to opt for the higher capacities of memory (128GB and 64GB) wherever possible to max out their servers. The memory prices continue to maintain a sideways price pattern with very little noticeable increase in prices.

In summer a lot of users are on vacation and this gives the IT staff a good opportunity to complete equipment upgrades when traffic on their networks is lower. This is especially true in cases where the IT departments have to power down some hardware for upgrade. We encourage our customers to use this time to complete their upgrades to be ready for Fall 2022 as people begin to return to work and schools reopen.

As the current memory product circulating in the market is consumed by Fall 2022 we might see some prices increase as new parts are more expensive to manufacture given the recent lock downs overseas and cost of labor and commodities rising.

Notes:
*RDIMM, also known as Registered Dual In-Line Memory Module, adds a register, which buffers the address and command signals between Dynamic Random-Access Memory modules (DRAM) on the DIMM and memory controller. RDIMM is used to give better steadiness and scalability ordinarily performs better compared to unregistered memory.

**LRDIMM represents load-decreased double inline memory module, utilized in servers that upholds higher densities than RDIMMs and contains a memory support (MB) chip. LRDIMMs are valuable in memory-concentrated applications in data centers, cloud & distributed computing, and high-performance computing (HPC).
